So while I am very religious about my skincare routine and all the things mentioned in this blog post help me not to break out, it is not a perfect science. WOMP WOMP! I still have breakouts. Whether it’s from traveling, bad eating, hormones; pimples still happen. Sometimes just annoying whiteheads, but sometimes still under the skin painful cysts. When that happens I have an arsenal of things ready to get rid of those breakouts as quickly as possible.
First things first! Light therapy. This was something that was recommended to me by my dermatologist. Shani Darden, a professional ️esthetician to many stars, also swears by this. Neutrogena has a light therapy mask that is super affordable! I opted for the pen since it was more reusable than the mask, but if you can afford the mask I’d say go for it!
Light therapy is super helpful on any and all breakouts. It’s UV and chemical free, and is a 2 minute treatment. It drastically reduces pimple size! I like to do it morning and night when trying to get rid of a breakout. By the next day you can seriously feel and see a size difference. For me I also notice less pain on cystic breakouts.
This is cult stuff now. Everyone loves this Mario Badescu Drying Lotion! It has Salicylic Acid, Sulfur, and Zinc Oxide in it for a full pimple vanishing power. If you’ve never tried this you need to get it right now! You don’t mix the solution (the pink should stay at the bottom) simply dab a q-tip into the bottom and dab it onto all blemishes, then sleep it off and be amazed in the morning!
Now a product I don’t think gets the recognition like it should is the buffering lotion. This actually goes under the drying lotion and is made for the under the skin cystic acne. Not many people use this stuff, but it is so helpful especially for hormonal acne!
While each one of these products is super great on their own, using them all together is seriously the best way to get rid of breakouts fast!
